The French American Academy is a bilingual and international school with two campuses in New Jersey, Englewood and Jersey City. We welcome students from PK through 8th grade.

Students learn in the context of a bilingual French-English program therefore the English teacher must be able to work in close collaboration with French teachers. The successful candidate will teach English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math and Science. S/he may be responsible for English language instruction in more than one grade level. Ideally, s/he will have extensive elementary school experience as well as experience in an international or bilingual school environment. We are looking for a teacher who: ● is interested in working in a bilingual French/English setting ● has experience teaching grades Pk to 5th grade, 3 years minimum ● has training in Early Childhood or Childhood Education with a bachelor's degree or higher and a teacher certification ● has training/background in English/ ELA and Maths ● has a strong writing and speaking skills in English ● has a student-centered approach ● adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests ● create a nurturing, safe classroom community ● is innovative and technology-savvy ● enjoys collaborating on curriculum and project-based learning ● is adaptable, flexible, and creative ● willing to teach several different grades ● has a commitment to equity and diversity ● Proficiency in French is a plus
