Ensure Exemplary Scholar Achievement

  • Collaborate with special education staff to support scholars with IEPs and 504 plans.
  • Plan and execute instructional activities tailored to the specific needs of small groups of scholars.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to differentiate lessons to address varying skill levels within the group.
  • Provide targeted intervention for scholars struggling in specific academic areas, such as reading, math, or other subject areas.
  • Implement research-based strategies to address learning gaps.
  • Design and deliver enrichment activities for scholars who require additional challenges or opportunities for accelerated learning.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to align small group instruction with classroom curriculum and goals.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and focused learning environment during small group sessions.
  • Teach and reinforce classroom expectations and behavioral norms.

Data Analysis and Informed Decision Making

  • Assess individual scholar needs through various forms of assessment, observations, and collaboration with classroom teachers.
  • Analyze scholar performance data to identify trends and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Monitor and document individual scholar progress.
  • Share insights on scholar progress and discuss effective instructional strategies.
  • Adjust instruction based on assessment results to ensure continued growth.

  • Execute the high dosage tutoring strategy resulting in 85% proficiency and a 30% increase proficiency overall  in scholar achievement results, outperforming city and state metrics in ELA, Math and Science  on NJSLA.l.

Educational Background and Work Experience:

  • Valid New Jersey Substitute Certification
  • Tutoring Experience Preferred

Salary: $55,000

  • Must be enrolled in a Teacher Certification Program within first 30 days of employment

Certifications

  • You possess or are eligible for NJ certification for Substitute Teacher (must be obtained within first 30 days of employment)
  • OR You have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 (if graduated after Sept 2015) or 2.75 (before Sept 2015) for NJ certification requirements
