About

Moravian Academy is a PS through 12th grade coeducational college preparatory school in the Moravian Tradition and the ninth oldest independent school in the United States. Founded in 1742, Moravian Academy continues to be a school in motion, developing new pathways to success for students ages 3 to 18. Moravian Academy comprises over 900 students and 200 employees from across the region on three campuses, each one tailored to a distinct student experience and culture: ● Moravian Downtown Campus for Grades PS-8, inside the national historic landmark in the heart of the City of Bethlehem; ● Swain School Campus for Grades PS-8, a 22-acre contemporary campus in the beautiful west end of Allentown; ● Merle-Smith Campus for Upper School, Grades 9-12, situated on 120 acres of green expanse in Bethlehem Township. Key features of the school include: A Spanish Immersion Program in Grades K-4 in which all homeroom instruction, including all language arts and mathematics, is in Spanish. A Suzuki strings program that begins in early childhood with students learning violin and cello. An independent study program in Grades 7-12 in which students pursue personal passions, experiments, and action research. A leadership and public speaking program for middle school grades in which every student delivers an advocacy speech. Expert college guidance that helps graduates find their right-fit colleges and universities, many of which are the most selective in America.
